Making a World War II movie on a shoestring budget isn't easy. It's obvious that there wasn't a lot of money to go around, so the filmmakers made do with what they had. Okay, I must admit that it's a little hard to be this harsh on an ultra-low-budget movie like this. The cost will set you back a lot and stronger, more AT focused tanks will have it for breakfast.Realism isn't one of a 'Company of Heroes' chief concerns by the way, neither are acting, the staging of action scenes, or providing anything remotely resembling a competent World War II movie. The KV-1 is just not something you get, when on equal footing. An OKW enemy, that struggels with fuel and has to rely largely on Raks for AT, will likewise struggle to take a KV down fast enough. KV-1s can slug it out with those pretty well. This type of meatshield tank can soak up lots of damage, but that doesn't do much, unless your enemies army composition will specifically struggle with that.įor example it is a good choice, when a Whermacht army consists largely out of infantry based AT and relies on PIVs for tanks. ![]() It's similar to the Churchill in that regard. The thing about the KV-1 and similar tanks is not so much what they can and cannot do, but that you have to make the call to invest into one just at the right time. That is exra durability at no cost of additional repair time. ![]() The 800HP basically got bumped up by the x0.8 damage modifier (from all sources) it has now. Well the armor isn't the main part of its durability anymore.
